Earthy Delights

Images of the natural world by Anne Kingston

About Anne

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

Extract from Wild Geese from Mary Oliver

I love taking images of the natural world, I call myself a 'freespirit photographer' , I don't have bags of kit or expensive lens, I rarely use a tripod, it's just me and my trusty little Canon 450D with either its standard kit lens or a Sigma macro lens, my eyes, my imagination and my heart (oh and my two dogs who may feature here and there).

My current home is in the beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Lancashire's Forest of Bowland, and it is the areas around my home that inspire most of my images although my passion for deserts in the Middle East will also feature I am sure.

Using a camera daily, as I have done for the last 3 years, is like having new eyes on the world, catch up with my daily photo journal at www.blipfoto.com/annekingston.  I am passionate about almost everything I do but especially the natural world and dance. To find out more about my dance life and holidays visit my personal website at www.annekingston.com.

When not taking photographs I work part-time in Communications for the Lancashire Environmental Fund, (an enviromental funding charity working within the Lancashire Wildlife Trust), as trustee of a breast cancer charity, Just Because raising funds for women in Egypt, teaching Middle Eastern dance and organising dance and desert holidays in Morocco and Egypt.
